Ward Campout

This weekend we had a ward campout at a place called Paradise Canyon not far outside of the city. We have such a great ward family with so many fun people to camp with. It was good times. We had absolutely the most perfect weather. It stayed overcast and breezy, but not too freezing that the kids could still play in the water. It was beautiful and nice to be outside (although I think I had one of the most miserable nights sleep:).

A few quotes that really got to me

"No earthly authority can separate us from direct access to our Creator. There can never be a mechanical or electronic failure when we pray. There is no limit on the number of times or how long we can pray each day. There is no quota of how many needs we wish to pray for in each prayer. We do not need to go through secretaries or make an appointment to reach the throne of grace. He is reachable at any time and any place." -James E. Faust
"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." -Elizabeth Stone
"Your toddler will do what they need to do, and not necessarily what you say. If you're patient, then they will be patient. If you speak gently, then they will be gentle. Whatever you want them to be, you have to start becoming." -Helen Hunt
This last one was more like a slap in the face. All day I've been noticing a lot of the sassy coming from Eliza are exact phrases out of my mouth. I've got some reflection and work to do.
And the picture of the week:

Easter

Happy Easter! My uncle put together this video with people he works with. It contains an excerpt from Elder Holland's talk this past general conference. That was my favorite talk. It was so powerful. I was so emotional. I am so grateful for Easter and everything it stands for.

Dear Mom and Dad,

Thank you for a wonderful trip.
The snow was awesome.

I got all teary eyed sending Preston to ski school for a day (I don't know what I'm going to do when he goes to Kindergarten??). It was a great experience for him.

And the homemade ice cream was the best.
Thank you!
