Week in Review

At the beginning of last week Hurricane Ike was on track to hit Corpus Christi sending us strong winds and lots of rain. We were warned to be prepared, however it blew off course and headed for the Houston area. We have cousins near the coast who received a mandatory evacuation and headed our way. We enjoyed hosting the evacuees, but needless to say they were a little anxious. We tried to keep their minds occupied showing them a few sites around town.

We tried a new place even for us...the Retama Park horse races. It was my first time ever going to the horse races. The races themselves were pretty exciting. The crowd and atmosphere...interesting (not your 1930s linen clothes and wide brimmed hats I always envisioned).
San Antonio LDS Temple

Walking trails near the temple. My new love is little girl tights. I can't wait to collect more for cold weather!

All in all Ike sent us a few scattered showers and some awesome cool weather the last couple of days. Thankfully our cousins' homes were spared and our prayers go out to those who were harder hit.

We've driven by the horse race grounds and have thought it would be kinda fun to go. Wide brimmed hats with linen clothes would make it way cooler though :)

I love little girl tights, too! Where do you get Eliza's? Do you have any matching ones for you? I think the coolest thing ever would be to walk into church with all three girls and I wearing matching tights. Your family is so beautiful, and I'm so glad your cousins escaped unscathed!
