Thanksgiving

Today I am grateful I decided to cut up my strawberries for lunch instead of eating them whole from the stem. As I cut into one of the largest I found a hole under the stem. I followed the hole pulling the strawberry in half only to reveal a fat, juicy caterpillar alive and wriggling around in it's cavernous home it created for itself inside my strawberry. Bite into that!

Oh, Jessica... that could have been disastrous! I can totally relate though...sort of. I love to make fruit smoothies and I usually buy those big bags of frozen strawberries from Costco. I used to just throw them in the blender whole, but one day I decided to chop them up a little so it would be easier to blend. That day changed my life!! I found frozen worms in like three of the strawberries I cut! I always find at least one in a bag. Who knows how many worms I blended?! Now I always cut my strawberries... fresh or frozen:) I guess on the bright side is that it is a good source of protein....ewwww. Anyway, I guess what you don't know won't kill you, but it is still gross:) I'm glad your story had a happy ending.
